The story unfolds in a future Taiwan, intertwining traditional culture with advanced technology. The narrative centers around Mei-Ling, a rebellious teen, her tech-savvy friend Lei, and Bao, a reactivated robot. Together, they discover magical elements, like Mei-Ling's transforming flame friend, and face challenges from uncovering ancient artifacts to battling threats against their city, delving into their heritage and the potential of modern technology.
Character Design - Mei Ling
Mei-Ling, a rebellious Taiwanese teenager, sports a high school uniform with a twist—emblazoned with street art-inspired designs and quirky accessories like a frog-shaped hoodie. Accompanied by her magical flame companion, she navigates a futuristic Taiwan with a blend of mischief and courage, embodying a vibrant mix of traditional and modern influences.
Character Design - Tian Shi
Tian Shi brings an ethereal touch to the adventures of Mei-Ling and her friends. With its celestial origin, it offers wisdom and magical aid, seamlessly appearing and disappearing to add mystery and depth to their journey.
Character Design - Lei
Lei is a charismatic and adventurous mixed-race young man, navigates the cultural landscape of Taiwan with a keen interest and an open heart. With one blue eye and one green, and a prosthetic leg from an accident, Lei's unique appearance matches his dynamic spirit. He wears traditional Hakka-patterned clothing, embracing the local customs and festivities with genuine enthusiasm. His journey through Taiwan is marked by curiosity, respect for the culture, and an adventurous spirit.
In the future Taipei, Lei pauses amidst the neon glow of the city streets, contemplating the fusion of his adventurous spirit. A sudden shift to a daring escapade propels Lei through the vertical cityscape, piloting a gigantic flying machine. This high-stakes escape not only tests his agility but also cements his bond with the vibrant, ever-evolving city.
